Home Sweet Home

Got Jetta home today! I am sooo happy! He was a bitch getting on the trailer, but that was to be expected. The man who ones the stable, was not happy with the people I brought with me to trailer him. They were not happy with him. My mom was not happy with him. He was not happy wih my barn owner. No one was happy but me. The only reason I was happy was because Jetta would finally be in my own back yard again. I love my boy! New pics to be up soon!

Sunday Question of the week

Arabians are bred not only with specific foresight as to how the body is built but with consideration to the conformation of the head. Other horses i.e. thoroughbreds, quarter horses, etc. etc. all have varying head types, and while Arabians have slight variations in the shape of their faces, Arabian breeders tend to have the same general goal for the head when thinking about their foals. Are Arabians the only horse breed that have such guidelines for the head?

Ride Ride Ride Ride Ride

Being able to ride him is a great feeling, knowing that i cannot take complete credit for it is not. I got him halfway there and decided it would be better to have some help, if not for my sake [since i'm going back to school and will have to worry about missing classes due to inevitable injury to myself] for his [since i'm going back to school and will have no time] but I rode him Thursday and he was wonderful, as expected. Hoping next Thursday i will have pictures :)

New Toes!

He got his feet done! He was so good :) he made mama proud...He did try to get a kick in at the end...but it was like a stretch kick, not a mean kick. We tried to clean his sheath, we will have to sedate him for that, since it needs to be done, we can't really wait too much longer on doing it, but after it's done we will work on getting him used to his "specific area" being touched. The dentist came out also for some of the other horses, he tried to do Jetta, but he moved his head to much, the dentist said he would be more comfy sedating him. :( i don't want my horse to be a druggie. lol
